Word an ‘issue’ surrounding the BMW high-tech electronic key verification system has been percolating on the intranets of for nearly as long as the system has been out. It ‘issue’ seems to strike randomly and without warning, strand the unsuspecting Beemer aficionado at the local Starbucks or on the road to Pruedoh Bay. Nothing, it appeared, was being done to correct the issue, and some even opted to carry around a spare antenna (the part widely identified as the problem child) should the unlucky even happen to them.
Good news appears to be on the horizon though, at least according to one BMW dealer in the US. MAX BMW base schizophrenically in both NY and NH has announced a massive recall (models and VINs above) to replace the little antenna buggers.
