Loud pipes annoy townies apparently. The city of Myrtle Beach, SC is now making a point of trying to eliminate the two rallies that happen within city limits each May. City sources say that hundreds of thousands of bikers descend down like locusts and, “They bring three weeks of noise, congestion, reckless driving, crime, nudity, lewdness, rudeness, litter, wrecks, fatalities - they are overwhelming our capacity to deal with them.” To top it all off, most don’t even golf, and they even tend to entertain themselves… with nudity perhaps.
The local county council has to hop on board to make this push a go, and that could happen as early as tomorrow, but probably in July. We’ll be keeping a eye on this with a hope of rallying for many years to come.
